Coastal acreage in Jilliby offers the best of both worlds

60 Burlington Ave, Jilliby.

Like a holiday resort dropped into the middle of the countryside, this coastal acreage offers buyers the best of both worlds.

Purchased by the owners as a block of land back in 2003, the property at 60 Burlington Ave, Jilliby, is now a single-level homestead with large modern living spaces and a tranquil pool surrounded in green acres.

Vendor Andrew Tuckey said that his family moved from Sydney for the affordability factor.

Pristine country residence.

“We could have bought something basic on the Northern Beaches, but we had always wanted to move out of the city. My wife grew up on acreage and wanted to get back to the country,” he said.

The pair had a Domaine home built on a new subdivision in the picturesque rural suburb of Jilliby.

Living spaces look out onto the resort-style pool.

The floorplan is perfect for a family, with three of the bedrooms and a media room located on one side and a second lounge room, formal dining room and main bedroom with parents retreat on the other.

“We were living with the in-laws when we originally built, and we wanted a bit of privacy, so it was perfect,” Mr Tuckey said.

A pool surrounded in gardens, palm trees and a waterfall was designed as part of the backyard, with view from almost everywhere in the house.

The property includes a small dam.

Set on a hectare of land, the property is framed by post-and-rail fencing and includes a horse yard, feed shed and a small dam.

Mr Tuckey even built a treehouse for his son, which has been well-loved over the years.

“We’ve had kids party at the back — there is so much space for running around,” he said.

The home is five minutes to the freeway, ten minutes to Westfield Tuggerah and five minutes from the Wyong Milk Factory.

“People think that being in the country you’re in the middle of nowhere, but even a trip to Bunnings is just five minutes away,” he said.

“We love it here, but we need to move closer to Newcastle to pursue our ice hockey hobby.”
